Well, that's us finally home. Safe and sound...considering we arrived at the Glasgow Airport just before terrorists drove into the front of the terminal. We seem to have incredible luck traveling to the UK. The last time we were there, the London bus and tube bombings happened, a fact not wasted on friends and family. We returned home to a kitchen table filled with mail (lucky me, both bills and junk) and our e-mail boxes filled to capacity. We are all getting caught up on sleep. Maybe it’s me, but I seem to have a harder time with zone traveling then I did when I was younger. My son seems to bounce back so quickly. Not only do I end up jetlagged, but I come home with a MASSIVE tea hangover from caffeine withdrawals. While visiting, I drink every cup of tea offered. I can't say no to a cuppa.Highlights of our trip include staying on Loch Ness at Point Claire in Invermoriston (refer to above photo, please), hanging out with family (and we do that a lot) and 2nd hand store shopping in the cities we visit. I’m always on the lookout for cd’s and my husband on the look out for nice ties. That sounds so boring, but he scored excellent ties, often for less then a quid, and I scored cd’s for the same price. My best purchase was Sly & The Family Stone’s Greatest Hits for 10p (roughly 18 cents with our current crappy dollar). Good bang for the buck though. I picked up a lot of compilation cd’s. My rule with purchasing compilations is if I recognized at least 3 of the artists, then I buy it. There seem to be more compilations published in the UK then here, but maybe I am mistaken. I would like to hear what the consensus is about that theory. Maybe more just seem to end up in the charity shops. So far my rule seems to have worked and I am wondering why haven’t I been informed about Devendra Banhart, Sondre Lerche, Blood Meridian and I Am Kloot (just to name a few). I am pleased with my purchases.I have to include a clip of this video. It was being shown everywhere, The Box, MTV2 even the local Subway sandwich shop had it playing. It will now be on our personal soundtrack of the trip. LOL.2 weeks gone and you are not ready to come home, but 3 weeks gone and you start to feel homesick for your place in the world. It’s good to be back.

Oh boy, that one is going to haunt me through the night. Funny how much they sound like Green Day. Cuter, though. Younger.
Dude. I am so glad that you are back. What are you doing Friday?? XO

Glad you enjoyed your time over here. Yes, we have lots of compilation CDs - it's actually a separate chart genre, so there's a whole industry around it - some bands make most fo their money from compilation licensing. Lucky about the Glasgow airpor scene - that would have had you waiting several days longer to get home.

Glad you had a good time, lady! Every time someone utters the words "trip to the UK", I get all emotional, because I remember mine, those were the glory days. Grats on your purchases; I also like your compilation rule, I might establish it myself.
Welcome back!
p.s. I'm really sorry that you had to see a MCR so much..LOL!

jonh - The airport scene has at least given me a new word...Smeaton.
Mike - I am liking Kloot. Very Robyn Hitchcocky don't you think?
Anna - Sounds like your glory days are hardly over.
Boy Flood - You put the Flood in England, you can't blame me for that one.
