Well folks...here is my first dip into the musical pond. The lesson being, if August "suggests" that you make something incorporating the soundscape of your recent trip to Europe, using your various recordings made along the way...well you do it.

At least I did.

Please be kind.

Complaints? August is also the manager of my complaint department.

(He is also #1 good sport in my book too. Thanks for the encouragement friend.)

Very smooth and soothing. I'm not sure if you should do EVERYTHING August recommends, but I think he was spot on this time. :)

Dale - That's not what August says to do...He says to do everything he says...mixed messages.

Kevin - He said something about a 90/10 split...I think he gets 90...is that a bad deal?

Sam - Garage Band, but most of the stuff is recorded on my Sony PCM-D50 and edited down...dang, I love that thing.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA! You all are just not right!! And Annie is 100% correct, she knows what's up!

Annie, who knew that my suggestion could blossom into something wonderful like this?! I love being a catalyst! Yvw for the encouragement, you deserve it since you did a great job.  And when did I become you're complaint dept. manager? You so cray-zay, haha.

You added some more bits in there from the version you sent to me. It's much more interesting sounding now. So is this finished or are you going to keep working on it?

*Kev* Audioslave broke up last year, so no I'm not their manager, heh.

That was fun Annie... great work!  Lot's of detail and space... that's important, it's hard to get the different parts to breath sometimes.

Amber - I love all the recorded sounds.

August - I did add some bits and speeded up the tempo, but and for the most part...I'm done.  Like what Chris said "a first step", but beside adjusting a few levels, I can take it or leave it.  I do have a ton of spoken word to work thru, stories told by the older people on the trip, and I don't know what to do with them.  Mostly not expecting perfection, just getting started, honing my experience working with the software all while grouping my recordings.  I have a family story I would like to work on next...

Chris - It really is just a first step...but I thought "what the heck".

Nick - "it's hard to get the different parts to breath sometimes." - The middle was the hardest part for me...I knew where I wanted to start and finish...just couldn't make the transition smooth enough.  It's still the part that is roughest, but meh...I wasn't expecting it to be perfect...just a bit interesting.  Again...I love that flippin recorder.  The best purchase EVER...thanks for your advice on that purchase.

What do you mean you don't know what to do with the spoken word bits? You didn't know what to do w/the sounds in this song either & look what happened with them! I have full trust in your ability that you will come up with another creative song to place them in. It's just a matter of time & your devious, er, creative mind will come up w/something, haha! GO ANNIE, IT'S YER BURFDAY, GO ANNIE!

Good job Annie!  Sounds like you have a good intuitive feel for the medium, and made decisions based on what you would enjoy listening to.

Aug - Were you a cheerleader in your past life...Go Team (JK).  No really...I spent the day sorting and naming the strories, there are some interesting things there...god, I do hate my voice in those recordings.  When I am around my Scottish family...my voice does change...it becomes more stilted and lilting, almost with a slight brogue.  I can't help it...I am a mimic.  So I do have to work with what I've got.

Spike - Thank you.  And yes, I do enjoy listening to elecronica...am I that transparent?

    Pat - You're to kind.

Ivy - That's kinda the feeling I was going for...traveling.  Thank you.

Spike - "Somewhat, but just opaque enough to be intriguingly mysterious." Sounds like you are evaluating a wine...a red, not a white.
