I wish I could say that my bags are packed…I wish I could say the house is the cleanest it's ever been…I wish I could say that all of our plans are set in stone while on our trip
BUT I CAN'T!
We are off tomorrow, gone for three weeks, vacationing in Europe (does that sound snooty…I think that sounds terribly snooty). Our itinerary is pretty easy going. We will be in the southwest region of France (think Dordogne River and Limoges, the place with the fancy boxes) for two weeks with family. Then we set off by train, just us three, to Carcassonne for a couple of days, and then finish our trip in Barcelona. We will be back before the end of the month…phew. It sounds like hard work if you ask me.
Pluses….Our family travel well together. We call Stan our sheepdog. He is always herding us (around airports, train stations, mass transit), keeping us all together, lest someone gets left behind. Stew is flexible. I was graced with a husband that is flexible and rolls along. And I…well, I am the planner. I have maps, drilled down maps, places of interest, tour de france schedule (a starting stage in Figeac on July 12th, an hour south of us, I hope to get Stan to see the start of a stage), passports, e-tickets, even some euros from our last trip. Yep, I'm the planner all right.
So, I'll catch you all in a couple of weeks. Hopefully with some picture and sounds from our journey. I have made contact with an old mogger friend, Danny Soulrocket. We hope to meet up in Barcelona for dinner. Talk about the mountain coming to Mohammad. If all things go as planned there will be lots to show and tell

HONEY! Have a grand time! You'll be missed! And if you happen to take that side trip to Germany...bon chance, mon ami!
I'll miss you too...but totally listening to our faves.
have a great trip! I'm terribly jealous :)
just remember to do your homework. :)
Annie, I am delighted for you. You will have a terrific time, judging from that itnerary. Southwestern France totally rules. If you get any time in the area around Toulouse, grab it. There's this wonderful little area called the Gers, around Mielan, where some friends of mine have a house (he married a Frenchwoman). The armagnac is amazing, the duck confit is too. Just don't listen to any French music!
I hope your vacation is snooty. Non-snooty vacations are by definition wracked with endless problems. This group Supergrass actually sounds good.
Ah, Europe. I'd love to get there sometime. I hopr you gusy can make it to the Tour de France stage, that would be memorable. Watch out for the doping needles! ;)
Don't miss us or nothing. :)
Ivy...I am writing down the names right now. And duck confit...I am all over that.
Spike...This song is especially appropriate. "Gotta get you in my suitcase." No...he really says that. And something about duty free. Hey...it works for me.
Amber...got my notebook packed and ready.
Deg...thanks.
My friend once referred to duck confit as "the hamburger of southwest France".....
Dale...I won't be shutting off my notifs...but I won't be checking them either over there. I'll save that for when I am jet lagged at the return.
That sounds like so much fun!!! Have a blast.... and bring us stories and pics!
Oh Ivy ... you enjoy Armagnac? Nothing like finishing off a long day with that particular bit of brandy.
I wish you flights that aren't delayed and perfect weather!!
Enjoy :)
Have a fantastic time- wow, what a trip. We'll miss having you around MOG. Find an internet connection somewhere and sneak a peak at what we are all talking about, while you are away. Bring back plenty of pics to share too! I'll live the life vicariously through your experiences.
it doesn't sound snooty it sounds FAB-U-LOUS! have fun!
Armagnac is the best, man....
Hava-Gooda-Trippa, yo.

WZ - Let's reconnect...I miss you...and I am glad that Iris is doing better too. I'll tell Belle you said hello.
Augusts - Me snooty...that's a laugh. I brought lots of tunes with me. BTW...I just played Matmos for Stew...he loved it.
RGM - Thanks.
Kev - I will be trying to get a picture of the elusive soulrocket...that's my goal.
Bill & Nick - I am more into Ruby Port for an after dinner drink...but I'll try something new...that's how I roll.
Music - I think the break from the internet will be good for me. I do an awful lot of typing as it is. But I will keep my notifs on, just to see what I missed when I return.
Cinful - as do I.
Moll - Thanks
GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY...SEND GOOD TRAVELLING THOUGHTS MY WAY TOMORROW. SEE YA!
Safety blessings.
I can't wait to hear about the journey. If I were you I would try to write stuff daily, like a diary in a note book, napkin, whatever.
Shake Dan's hand for me.
I read somewhere that France is supposed to have good wine. Check it out.
I heard that, too . . .
Have a great trip!
make sure you tell all the lovely french gals over there about me ;)
You finish up in the place with probably the most to see - Barca - it will be hard work! Have a great time!
Have fun! I'll be setting off on my own european adventure just after you return, so any tips on what to see in Barcelona would be much loved...
Have a blast, dear!
Summer is so on...
Byes! We'll miss yah!
Have a good time there...(here?).
Great that you get to meeting Danny Soulrocket!
