WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

I've been revisiting...

Posted 8 months ago

my electronica / techno roots.

Sure, I have my well documented facination with The Boards of Canada and Autechre, but lately I've been digging deep into my iPod...turning things over...loving the grooves and samples that my collection is bringing to my ears.

Zagar? Where on earth did I get this from?

And Four Tet? How did I forget about their album Rounds? It's just sublime.

I know where I got No. 9 "Mushi-no-ne" Thanks Michael.

This is only the start...just a few ear treats I felt like sharing.

wowza!  this is my favorite post in ages!  lovin all this groovy machine music.  i'm also a huge fan of stuff like Boards of Canada, Autechre and Blockhead (and now a big Zagar fan!)  In fact, if you haven't heard Blockhead yet, I highly recommend doing so asap.  Laid back beats and samples similar to the Dabrye tune you posted here.  (And the old-skool players are such a classy touch.  ...I love that peeps still use these even tho it's extra effort....)

I guess our delving into seeing live electronica at Coachella really took it's toll on you.

I'm liking the No. 9 song quite a bit, funky ass beats. Zagar is pretty damn good too as well as the Tejada.
