WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

summer days

Posted over 2 years ago
nothing more appropriates for summer listening than a song called "summer days." that it is by bob dylan is a plus, plus, plus!

the direction that bob has taken since oh mercy has been fantastic...coming to terms with aging, death and all that... in a way that even the gifted young man he was couldn't master because...well, he was young.

i call this is "cowboy period," but i guess its just because of the hat and western wear. but the texas guys he's got on guitars now...they really swing... like western swing!

whenever i see dylan on his never ending tour, lately, this has been the last song of the set before the encore. it really does send you home happy!

  1. Kate says I haven't been to a Dylan show in about 4 years- it's about time for a fix! 'Modern Times' was played quite a bit on a recent road trip. He's still making relevant (and funny) music- and i'm so glad. I am a bit of a Dylan nerd, and definitely have my favorite periods (Rolling Thunder Revue-era, etc) and will defend him to anyone who writes him off :)

  3. Cody B says He certainly is in a tough spot as far as expectations go, but he just continues to do what he does..and the humor element works really well for him. Nice one.

  4. anna log says dylan nerds unite! i haven't missed a tour since 74.... it must be hard BEING bob dylan and having all that music you've written... trying to come up with a set list... someone in the crowd will always want you to play something you completely forgot about....those tours he did with merle haggard were awesome.... i only wished they'd done a song together. but dylan performing "Sing Me Back Home" at the end of his set was pretty spectacular....
