WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Jim Dickinson, R.I.P.

Posted 3 months ago

Maybe MOGGERS I don't know have mentioned this, but I did not see any mention of the passing yesterday of Memphis / Mississippi based musician/producer/legend, Jim Dickinson. He was one of those quiet guys... you may not know his name, but you knew his work... the piano on the Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" --- Dickinson.... producer of Amy Levere --- Dickinson.... father of the North Mississippi All Stars Luther & Cody --- Dickinson.... too many credits and contributions to music in too many decades to sing about. Its a great loss.

I want to point you to my friend Bob Mehr's obit in the Commercial Appeal

That's a great write-up by Bob, for a musical treasure that will surely be missed.

Didn't see it on MOG but it was reported elsewhere in the news online.  A true talent and a man who knew his craft.
