   Dale says Give it some time, MOG-o-Matic takes a long time, but it uses Gracenote technology to figure out song titles, instead of trusting the id3 tags. Trust me, it's worth it.

   KirinDave says Anjibee, I'm the lead developer for the part of mog that handles statistics tracking. I'm very curious about your observation that other music tracking sites handle things differently. Care to feed us some real data? But as for your concerns about the mogomatic, if you have to even ask the question, it's probably not a real issue. The mogomatic is specifically set up so that it only does work in the idle cycles of your CPU. The amount of bandwidth it needs is really very small, and would only give issue to a dial-up connection. It's unusual for a small collection like yours to take so long to index. I'll ask someone to contact you and get more details. Maybe there is a quick fix.

   anjibee says my total itunes library is 10459 as of this moment. i'm constantly adding tracks, though, since i'm a music podcaster and band. there's been several times over the past 2 days that i heard my drive going nuts, which i've attributed to mog. i actually shut it off last night when i was putting together my lastest vidcast. the interesting thing is, prior to shutting off mog, NO stats were showing up on my page, but shortly after restarting mog, stats suddenly starting appearing. the odd thing was, however, that they don't match my plays. for instance, the tops plays this week don't match anything i've played at all this week! i don't even own that johnny cash song!? "thembi" was last played on 11/18/05 according to itunes, while "i'm black ya'll" was last played in 2004! crazy... for a comparison with my other music trackers, check out: http://www.last.fm/user/lovespirals http://ilike.com/user/anji_b let me know what you discover, if anything! :)

   The Time Machine says Anjibee, I hear you on the slowing down of your hard drive. I give you credit for giving it a shot. Our hard drive has enough problems loading up music to Live365 and there were so many freeze ups on LastFM that we haven't had the courage to download the actual MOG. Some label oriented info hasn't been picked up even in just listing down proper info by typing it in. For example we keep switching the duo names of Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs around to see if their Shout! Label release gets recognised but after several weeks...we've given up on that. The album has been out since Spring '06 so we figured that Gracenote would pick it up. iTunes and other sites get the info without any problems. Enjoy your selections of music! Aloha from Hawaii!
