This song completely rocks me because its so...so...so...COOL. Its like Chris Isaak meets Bond circa 68 meets the British Invasion (the first one). Its surprisingly good, and I gotta say, as I write this, its my 3rd time in a row listening to this track, which for me is unheard of as I deem most contemporary music piss-poor. This track is just happening, and engaging, and groovy. Give it a go!
OK, so I know this song is a bit old however it still gets me everytime like it was the first time I'm hearing it. I love the lovesick-puppy lyrics ...it brings me back to the angst of high school at the same time it feels relevant to me at my age (old lady now!). I think the relevance is in its melody and hook, which is so attention-grabbing.Its a modern sound too but at the same time familiar -
Really happy to hear a chick making good electro-pop...I think Lady Gaga is so over-rated, and Peaches is just crazed (I like Peaches but in small doses). Little Boots is listenable, and moveable, and just good!!
There's something about the track "The Resolution" that I really like...Andrew McMahon's vocal is emotional and the song just moves. Its somewhat cheesy as the intro has an 80s-reminiscent synthesizer sound but when it kicks in, the track displays a Coldplay and David Gray-ish thing. Its good Adult Pop.
This was released in 1990 and I remember the video being played on MTV like every 20 minutes (can you imagine an "oldie" like Petty being played on MTV these days?)...as an East Coast girl, this song represented the West Coast life. Obviously the lyrics make reference to LA landmarks and the video is filmed there so blatant messages were being transmitted; regardless, when I hear "Free Fallin",...
