Have you ever really just wanted to give your date a goodnight kiss but she/he wants nothing of it? So was the case sometime in the late 80's when I went out with this woman several times who wanted to be "just friends." I guess that's a kiss of sorts - the kiss of relationship death!This song was pretty easy to write after one of these *dates*. And another of my unrequited love songs .

I wrote the lyrics to this song and a rudimentary melody back in 1984. I met this guy Mark Horn through a classified ad who upgraded the melody. Together, we recorded this demo on an old cassette player with two microphones plugged in and me "engineering." I found the cassette and digitized the song.
