Amelia - Title Revealed!
You know how you see the title of a CD and you flip it over to find that the title is, in fact, NOT a song title? Then you go, "Well, what's that supposed to mean?!" Allow us to fix that problem. This song is where we get the title for our little record, 'A Long, Lovely List of Repairs'. This lovely tune, "Needlework," was written by our own Scott Weddle.
NEEDLEWORK (SW)
A short then sparks
A room goes dark
From faulty fuses in a heart of hearts
The record skips in starts and fits
The fuss and filler to the greatest hits
A long lovely list of repairs
The bars to bend the tears to mend
The hinges groan and so the door
Has been propped open and been left alone
Now strangers sit in chairs and sift
Through odd belongings that I know I'll miss
Until now they were so well-behaved.
With bars to bend the tears to mend
It's looking like needlework again
A stitch then two
Your fingers move
To tie down buttons I was bound to lose
A simple way to slow the fray
And keep this ravel for another day
It's never the wait that it seems
The bars you bend and tears you mend
It's looking like needlework again
You MOGGERS have been very welcoming and we are so happy you are enjoying the tunes! It means a lot!

i love the rhythm and connectivity that these lyrics have on their own. i read them before i listened and i really like it as a poem. the song is delightful too, like seeing a movie after reading the book...
