WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Seattle is beautiful in the fall...

Posted over 2 years ago
This morning I fired up my trusty laptop to find my first email was from my close friends at Bumbershoot.org. Well, maybe not _friends_ exactly, but any email like this has to come from someone I could grow to love...http://www.bumbershoot.org/lineup.htmThe lineup has (finally) been announced and if you take away the addition of Fergie, its absolutely incredible! There's something for everyone here, lots of local bands, and some of my favorites of 2007; Kings of Leon, BRMC, Apples in Stereo, Ted Leo/RX, The Trucks, The Shins...the list goes on and on.Emotionally, I am thrilled to see The "Lashes":http://mog.com/amber/blog_post/68777 on the line-up. You may remember in May, my favorite Lashes member "Eric":http://mog.com/amber/blog_post/74895 broke his back and cannot walk. But he can RAWK, and this is their first show to prove that.I am so there; now, who's with me?

  1. Dale says We need to work on your yelling, cuz. AHEM And then, all the bands I'm dying to see are on Sunday (BRMC, KoL, Art Brut). That's just sick and wrong. Grrrr. So, it appears that I shall not be attending.

  3. tybees says I've been thinking about going, but I really don't know Seattle very well and $$$ may be an issue. I sure wouldn't mind seeing any of those bands, though!

  4. Rawkkiddoh says to say I wish I could go would be an understatement

  5. amber says Tybees...you find a place to stay--there are some cheap hotels around the airport, and I'll carpool your butt into Seattle for the shows. There will probably be around 4-6 of my friends going, so somehow, we can get you into Seattle--piece of cake. This goes for any of you all!

  6. Augusts1 says Can you believe that after living in Portland, OR for my first 35 yrs. that I never went to Bumpershoot? It was always the same w/e as the huge Portland arts fest Artquake which had tons of bands playing for FREE so that is why I didn't go. Free is a very good price! But I agree Seattle is gorgeous in the fall. I had several friends who lived there in the '80s & early '90s so I spent some time up there. I even went camping in late Sept., early Oct. out on the Olympic peninsula which was absolutely stunning w/the leaves turning. Btw, you only had one word capitalized so I'd say you were far from yelling imho.

  7. ZeppoNoir says It's a great lineup this year fo-sho. But I'm so irritated that the organizers nixed the Friday lineups. I thought that was really the best day to go. Smaller crowds and you could always find really great local and smaller indie acts. Grrrrr! Oh well, I'm still looking forward to it this year!
