Another Sasquatchian gift: The Whigs

Artist:
Athens, Georgia must be a hot bed of talent. I've already waxed poetic about Dead Confederate and now get ready for gushing for "The Whigs":http://www.myspace.com/thewhigs.
I had heard their latest album and enjoyed it, which put them on the "must see" list for Sasquatch. What I didn't expect was to be so entralled by their set. Lead singer, Parker Gispert, has a baby face and a big rocker attitude. At times, he literally swallowed the mic, and when he busted a move...he'd do lunges that made my quads hurt to watch, high kicks that would split lesser seams. Lots and lots of energy.
The other members of the band were great fun to watch too. Julian Dorio beat the drums like they were his worst enemy's head.
And bassist Tim Deaux...why is it always the bass player that makes my toes curl? Of course, this one is rather cute and had a killer smile. Plus, he could play. :)
What about the music, you ask? Oh, yeah. The music...great Southern rock. Their latest album, Mission Control, is great fun. And after seeing them live, I enjoy it even more.I can't wait to see them again...at Lollapalooza. And when they get to Seattle next. I mean, seriously, how could I pass up great music AND boots like these?
