Getting Down (and Staying Down) on Treasure Island

Posted over 2 years ago

I ventured down the coast from Seattle to the Bay Area for the Treasure Island Music Festival. Life, being funny (I mean funny/strange, not funny Ha Ha) threw a slight curve ball and so I didn't make it to the first day's showing but hit the second day, starting with Thao With the Get Down Stay Down.

Thao With the Get Down Stay Down

I was only slightly familiar with their tunes but was quickly captivated by them. Thao's guitar playing was impressive and we thrilled to her finger picking, chord strumming, hair flipping goodness. Awwwwwww, yeah....a new band to chew on. Yummy.

Reminding me of Edie Brickell (who I like), her voice somehow by-passed my knee jerk tendancies to veer away from women's vocalizations. Thao has now kicked Sea Wolf off my ipod repeat as I consume my commute music to/from work...and I was REALLY digging on the Sea Wolf.

So, enjoy a little teaser-taste with me and tell me; delicious, no?

Annie also loved her hair...and yes, it would look fabulous on you

Live, you get a bigger dose of the guitars.  I re-listened and you are such smartie pants music lovers.  Keys and drums--its like they had a whole band in studio.  (thanks for making me listen closer to my own post.  love it!)
