YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

It's About Brian Jones, One Of The Rolling Stones

Posted about 1 year ago
Totally mental 12 inch 45 that I bought in 1985 purely because I loved the picture disc.I don't really know much about Psychic TV, but this is a blast.Hyperdelic music, apparently.Dedicated to the Dead Stone ...and his lonely and unsatisfactory death This is a story, a very special story. It's about Brian Jones, one of the Rolling Stones. Where were you when the stars went out?Where were you when they started to shout?I saw you alone by the pool, and all your friends called you a fool.Godstar, And you were so beautiful, you were so very special,I wish I was with you now, I wish I could save you somehow. Godstar, Where were all your friends that nightas you switched off the final light?I saw your body in the waterLike a lamb going to the slaughter And where were all of your laughing friends?Where were they at the very end? They started to steal your gloryThey never even told your story

  1. Jonh Ingham says Psychic TV was the brainchild of Genesis P. Orridge and the follow up band to Throbbing Gristle. TG were an early electro band in punk days and memorable for the wonderfully named '20 Jazz Funk Greats'. It's a good album. Genesis and his girlfriend Cosi Fanni Tutti became notorious at the end of 1976 for doing an art installation at the ICA (institute of Contemporary Art) in London that had used tampons in it. Genesis started to disappear into his own universe around the time of this album and a minor star at the best of times, disappeared from public view by the 90s. So now you know. Like the noise on the disc. Though you did buy it for the right reason. :- p
