Sunday Under Cover With Gregory Isaacs

Posted about 1 year ago
The original is a a superb piece of work by Dobby Dobson for producer Duke Reid's Treasure Isle label. Dobson was reportedly paid £10 for his efforts - covered here by the great Gregory on his 1976 album Extra Classic. I'm pretty sure I've got Dobson's original on a compilation somewhere, so if Baudolino doesn't beat me to it then I'll post that when I find it.

  2. Baudolino says Dobby Dobson is now based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He's still performing live, although he seems to be playing only gospel tunes these days, having become a born-again Christian after the death of his mother in 2000. He's playing in Minneola next Saturday along with Rev Norris Reid (formerly of the Jamaicans), according to his Myspace page. Anyway, here is "Loving Pauper", backed by Winston Wright & the Supersonics
