Rounding out the Year
-
Artist:
It's XMas day. It's been five months since my last post and I have a couple updates to make.
My band, Undercover Rabbis (which you can find at www.myspace.com/undercoverrabbis) played a successful show (our second to date) and attempted to record in a slave graveyard. Unfortunately, the mixing/recording process was foiled by something and only a fourth of the mics picked up. Anyways, it was still quite the (cold) experience. In other updates,
I've seen numerous bands - The Flaming Lips, The Disco Biscuits, Pelican, and The Mars Volta - all of which were excellent shows.
I've made my top ten album list of 2009
10. Tentacles - Crystal Antlers
9. Beacons of Starship - Tortoise
8. Manners - Passion Pit
7. Octohedron - The Mars Volta
6. Geneva - Russian Circles
5. Merriwether Post Pavillion - Animal Collective
4. Ephemeral - Pelican
3. Other Truths - Do Make Say Think
2. Embryonic - The Flaming Lips
1. Monoliths and Dimensions - Sunn O))
I'm already looking into next year's releases with one of my favorite bands Thee Silver Mt. Zion set to release their next full-length "Kollaps Tradicional." Here's the first song they've released on their website www.tra-la-la.com
