The Absolute Hits Collection assembles many of the Atlantic label's biggest smashes of the mid-to-late 1990s; for casual fans of contemporary pop, it's a smart investment, as many of these singles (matchbox20's "3 am," Sugar Ray's "Fly" and Collective Soul's "The World I Know" among them) are much stronger than the remaining material on the original albums.
