Soda Stereo were one of Argentina's most successful rock bands; combining the power and anthemic sound of classic guitar-based rock with the energy and imagination of new wave and alternative rock, the trio was one of the most popular and celebrated bands in Latin America in the 1980s and '90s. In 1997, Soda Stereo announced they were breaking up, and El Ultimo Concierto, Pt. A was recorded during the group's final performances at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. Selections include "El Rito," "Canción Animal," "Signos," "En la Ciudad de la Furia," and six others. (More music from this show appears on El Ultimo Concierto, Pt. B.)
