Christmas is a delightful collection of swingin’ Christmas classics from The Andrews Sisters and Bing Crosby, neither of whom are strangers to swooning holiday ears. Yes, it’s an Andrews Sisters album by name, but Bing makes it onto most of the tracks to join in on all the close-harmony fun, with particularly jolly renditions of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and “Poppa Santa Claus”, a song about Santa’s toys all getting together and throwing him an awesome sounding party. The Andrews’ personalities especially shine on the great “I’d Like to Hitch a Ride with Santa Claus”, and on the sweet little story of an ornament named Annie, “The Christmas Tree Angel”. The album gets downright silly on “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth”, when Bing and one of the sisters take up old-fashioned cartoon voices. A charmer!
