Freda Payne had her chartbusters on Holland, Dozier and Holland's Invictus Records. Lost in Love features her biggest Invictus hit "Band of Gold," plus nine more from various periods for a mixture of Payne's hit soul sound and her less successful easy pop explorations. Ashford and Simpson's "Keep It Coming," on which she clones Honeycone's Edna Wright vocal style to a tee; Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter's (scandalous for the times) "You Brought The Woman Out of Me," a hit for Hot; and "Run For Your Life" stand tall on this collection of pleasant, inoffensive tracks. It's cheap too; pay for it with a ten dollar bill and you'll have enough change left for gas.
