Contrary to the back cover's claim, Conway Twitty did record quite a lot of love songs over the years -- they might not have been romantic, but most of his songs were about romantic relationships, which could be easily labeled love songs -- but this 14-track collection does a fine job of capturing romantic highlights from his decades at MCA-associated labels. There are several hits here, such as "I'd Love to Lay You Down" and "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'," yet this isn't designed as a hits album -- it's mood music, and on that level, it succeeds quite well. Twitty's warm baritone was quite seductive, and he had usually had fine material, which means this collection of highlights is quite alluring, even seductive, in its own way.
