Greatest Hits: In Christ Alone is Michael English's first compilation and it is a good one, containing 12 of his biggest hits plus two new songs. His only charting ~Billboard crossover single is here -- 1996's "Your Love Amazes Me" -- along with such soundtrack contributions as his Wynonna duet "Healing" (which appeared on the largely forgotten #Silent Fall, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Liv Tyler), but the focus of this set is definitely on CCM hit favorites, including the title song, "Solid as the Rock," "Heaven," "Mary, Did You Know," "Holding Out Hope to You" and "I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy." While they may not appear here in chronological order, it is a good cross-section of his work, nicely annotated by English himself, and the two new recordings fit right in with the rest, making this Greatest Hits both a strong overview of his career and a good introduction to his music.
