When he recorded A Night at the Met, Robin Williams was on the verge of becoming a full-fledged movie star. He had already established himself as a genuine comic talent and gifted actor, but he had yet to give up standup comedy. As it turned out, A Night at the Met was one of his last major concerts. And what a concert it was! Williams is in top form, bouncing between topics at hyperspeed, spitting out wildly intelligent and funny riffs on drugs, sex, and politics. It is a perfect memento of a comic at the height of his talents.
