Woven exhibit the lush, produced sensibilities of orchestra pop but eschew the actual instrumentation. Instead, actually singing their songs (a contemporary rarity for upstart rock groups), they rely on the electronic possibilities of the matured synthesizer as their orchestra of sounds, strings included. The result is a refreshing middle ground between art rock and trip-hop. It is not all keyboards and programming here, though. The sextet also includes two guitarists, two drummers, and a bassist. This overpopulated rock combo strength gives the rock & roll backbone to the group's electronica tone coloring and synthetic melodies.
