Happy Mondays

Loads

No band served as a better encapsulation of the drug-fueled "Madchester" days than the Happy Mondays. A little sloppy, a little trippy, and showing flashes of brilliance even on their worst songs, the band's music seemed to capture the insanity of a rave on record despite the fact that it should be impossible. Loads serves as something of a necessity given how inconsistent the Happy Mondays were both on stage and in the studio, and the result is 16 songs of messy party bliss. It won't be a hit at your next dinner party, but if you drop "24 Hour Party People" on the right dancefloor, few things will ever sound better.
