After spending several years crafting left-field dancefloor jams, Spain's John Talabot surprised everybody by creating an accessible, shimmering electro-pop album with Fin, his debut album. However, Talabot didn't ditch his experimental side entirely, embracing unconventional rhythms on tracks like "Journeys," which features Delorean frontman Ekhi. More than anything, though, Talabot has created a dance album that you don't have to dance to, as it feels just as appropriate to soak in the beautiful string samples of "Last Land" as it does to groove to the disco-tinged house of "So Will Be Now," and his reputation as an off-kilter music chameleon should only grow from here.
