Given their endless '60s influences, it's no surprise that Zooey Deschanel (She) and M. Ward (Him) would feel right at home creating an album of sweetly melodic holiday tunes. Using their tried-and-true formula of pleasing country melodies and sugary vocals, the duo manage to capture the essence of Christmas standards like "The Christmas Waltz" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" while leaving a modern wink or two throughout. They're certainly not reinventing the wheel with these holiday songs, but A Very She & Him Christmas is the perfect soundtrack for those wishing to rock out around the Christmas tree without alienating their parents.
