With her life and career cut short too soon, Laura Branigan's distinctive voice is memorialized in this seven-song posthumous release of high-energy European dance-flavored numbers designed predominantly for club play. And while there are a few ballads and slower numbers, the music here definitely does not fit the mold of the adult contemporary hits that made her a worldwide success at the peak of her fame. Her cover of ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" and re-recordings of "Gloria" and "Self Control" may provide a clue as to what direction she might have taken to re-establish her career, but unfortunately these were the last recordings she made before her untimely passing.
