Between the release of 2009's Machine Dreams and this year's Ritual Union, the profile of Swedish electronic act Little Dragon and lead singer Yukimi Nagano rose significantly thanks to guest slots with Gorillaz and David Sitek among others. Despite the new fame and rising expectations, the band manages to shrug the pressure off and deliver on the hype for their latest, contemplating marriage on the melancholy title track. Elsewhere, they provide a lethal one-two near the album's climax with the one-two punch of experimental new wave jam "Nightlight" and the drum-heavy avant-pop of "Summertearz." While they've gained new fans from famous friends, Little Dragon just might eclipse them all if they keep up some of the left-field fun of Ritual Union.
