For just shy of a decade, the Horse Meat Disco collective have thrown one of the most important dance parties on either side of the pond, playing a massive role behind the scenes in reviving the vintage disco sound. Through both their club nights and influence on acts like LCD Soundsystem and Hercules & Love Affair, the group's recent compilations of disco edits are something like a holy grail for dance fans. Though Horse Meat Disco III is no exception, the compilation manages to find a middle ground between past and present, sharing not only funky cuts from the late '70s and early '80s, but a slew of edits from producers using it as inspiration today like Todd Terje as well. The same could be said for any compilation, but be prepared to have this as your warm weather boogie soundtrack.
