With a little crowd-sourcing help from their fans, Gomez have put together their best set of indie pop tunes yet with the release of Whatever's on Your Mind. After getting fan feedback from demos, Gomez hit the studio with a better idea of how to tweak their sound, and it pays dividends on songs like the sax-heavy "I Will Take You There." Elsewhere, the band adds a fresh dose of synths and electronics on "Song in My Heart" and sweeping strings on "Our Goodbye." While a band's fans often make for inconsistent critics, Gomez have to be thankful that theirs knew exactly how to expand their sound.
