While husband and wife duo Handsome Furs have been creating off-kilter electro-pop for years under the Handsome Furs moniker, they've never sounded as massive and energized as they do on Sound Kapital. Everything from Wolf Parade member Dan Boeckner and wife Alexei Perry sounds more upbeat and urgent on their latest, less like art-school project and more like a group creating something passionate and personal on tracks like the energetic "Bury Me Standing." Tracks like "Bury Me Standing" have more in common with punk than indie pop, and it causes Boeckner and Perry to create an appealing sound all their own.
