As much an influence on rock as the blues world, Jimmy Reed's 1958 debut album made a lasting impact on everyone from the Rolling Stones to Jimmie Vaughn. Possessing a more relaxed R&B flavor than the work of his peers, Reed was best known for his trademark style - the consistent strum of his guitar that you'd probably recognize as today's blues standard. Though he's viewed as more digestible than fiery artists like Howlin' Wolf, Reed still gets the blues across just as well as the rest, and it really only takes one listen to opening track "Honest I Do" to remember why.
