Suck It And See

While most of their fellow buzzworthy UK rockers have fallen by the wayside within two albums, the Arctic Monkeys have escaped the hype machine by consistently throwing curveballs at their fan base, and Suck It and See is no exception. Maintaining some of the darker, heavier elements of 2009's Humbug, this album not only finds them tapping their inner-'70s rocker, but also sounding wise beyond their years on ballads like "Reckless." Still, the Arctic Monkeys don't just limit their left turns to growing up, even letting drummer Matt Helders step up to the mic to perform vocals on "Brick by Brick." Six years after they looked poised to take over the rock world, the prophecy is finally becoming true.
