AMG Review of Bing Crosby & the Andrews Sisters: Their Complete Recordings Together
Richie Unterberger
All Music GuideJust what the title says: a double-CD of 53 tracks from 1939-52 that includes all their official releases (many of which were substantial hits), as well as rarities that have only been available on bootlegs and some outtakes. There are also Christmas songs and a couple of tunes that also feature vocalist Dick Haymes, letting you know that this package is firmly targeted toward the serious '40s vocals fan. It's not the first (or second) preferred purchase for fans of either Crosby or the Andrews Sisters. On the other hand, if your interest in either Crosby or the Andrews is serious enough to warrant more than a greatest-hits CD, you'll likely enjoy this reissue.
