Contemporary bluegrass siren Rhonda Vincent took her lightning-hot touring band from the stage to the studio for Destination Life, a 12-track slab of immaculately crafted classics, covers, and originals that fit neatly into the vocalist and fiddler's increasingly impressive country canon. Vincent, a performer from the age of five, gives each track her full attention, whether it's a flamenco-tinged take on the Buck Owens classic "Stop the World (And Let Me Off)," a lovely reading of Poco's "Crazy Love," or a straight-up dust-kicker like "Eighth of January" (the latter is where her road-tested band comes alive). Fans of modern bluegrass will find little to argue with here.
