MOG Editorial Review
Prog-rock masters Rush always had a penchant for creating epic tunes, but Moving Pictures was the album that managed to harness that massive sound into something that was cohesive and accessible without sacrificing their core sound. From the unforgettable opening notes of "Tom Sawyer," the band make it clear that they've combined their heavy-hitting rock sound with synths perfectly, as the added touches seem to enhance their futuristic lyrics. From there, the understated "Red Barchetta" and sprawling "The Camera Eye" show their range, capable of toning it down and then turning it way up. Moving Pictures is a huge album in every sense of the word, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
