Finding the bizarre middle ground between New Order's "Round and Round" and Ministry's "Stigmata," VNV Nation really shines on the title track to this single. Featuring gruff vocals layered over gorgeous keyboards, this is a prime example of how well the electronica and industrial genres can blend. "Welfunk" is a straight-up techno track, filled with lush keyboards and a booty-shaking beat that propels the song into its unspectacular end. Coil's Icon does little to the original song but makes it meaner, while Thomas P. Heckmann's remix pronounces the beat much more effectively. The only important track here is the original version of "Genesis," the rest is for hardcore fans only.
