Buying reggae records is much the same process as buying jazz records. Even for those who are unfamiliar with the actual player whose name graces the cover, chances are his name is largely irrelevant. Just look at the year on the label. 1975-1978? Primo. Backed by the Roots Radics? Outstanding. Drop the needle and there it is, the solid roots groove, the conscious lyrics, and the ringing tenor of a young man on the move and in his prime. Powerful stuff.
