Featuring one of the most recognizable two-note refrains ever to grace the big screen, John William's score for Steven Spielberg's Jaws proved terror-inducing, which is perfect given the premise of the classic, shark-infested flick. While the music that accompanies it plays out as motifs, it's a fitting tribute to Williams' creativity: even without the movie in front of you, it's clear that he's masterfully evoking the characters’ evolving moods in short, powerful bursts.
