1999's Christiansongs proves to be Joy Electric's most mature and complete artistic statement of their faith. Shedding some of the sugar coating of his previous songs, Ronnie Martin presents 11 tunes with universal lyrical appeal and a more complex sound. Christiansongs includes "Children of the Lord," "Lift Up Your Hearts," and "Make My Life a Prayer," which address the state of today's Christianity, as well as "Disco for a Ride" and "Synthesized, I Want You Synthesized," which focus on the lighter side of Martin's musical vision. A must for longtime fans of Joy Electric's message, and interesting for secular synth pop listeners as well.
