As if the first volume in this two-edition set weren't mind-blowing enough, this one is even hotter, filled with material from the postwar years. Jordan and his smoking band were trying harder, and had become so original and adventurous that the music here was beyond many -- though the core Jordan fans were loyal to the end. There are 25 cuts here, some better known than others, but all of such high quality that picking standouts is counterproductive. The sound quality is more than acceptable and the presentation, particularly considering the painstaking process of sorting through the huge amount of material, is cause for celebrating. Just get it.
