The title track was Sam Cooke's first pop hit, and in many ways the song that symbolizes the change from the earnest, frenzied gospel he had done to the sentimental, coy pop that made him a celebrity. There's some beautiful singing throughout this album; it just isn't the great, transcendent stuff he had done.
