MOG Editorial Review
Three albums into his post-Genesis career, Peter Gabriel began to hit his stride with III, blending the sprawling rock of his previous band with a synth-laden, gloomy sound that helped usher in the '80s better than anyone could have anticipated. From the chaotic opening seconds of "Intruder" on, it's apparent that Gabriel is creating a warped masterpiece, far from the sorts of songs you'd later hear in Say Anything. Still, the man was a rocker first and foremost, as standouts like "I Don't Remember" indicate, resulting in an album that's just strange enough to satisfy music geeks while ready to play to the rafters of an arena.
