Over the course of their first two albums, Chromeo successfully unlocked the secret to replicating everyone's synth-based guilty pleasures that were forgotten with the '80s, and Business Casual has them digging even deeper in that idea. While sex has always played a big part in their music, songs like "Hot Mess" and "Don't Turn the Lights" on find them getting even more sensual and romantic while embracing the sounds of everyone from Hall & Oates to Toto. Meanwhile, "When the Night Falls" is proof that the band only gets better when put any hints of cheese behind to create a full-fledged, serious version of '80s synth-pop, and it's moments like this that show you exactly why they're still gaining new fans at a time when most like-minded bands would have been labeled "gimmicky" by now.
