Les Plus Belles Chansons is a solid compilation of Françoise Hardy recordings from the '70s, though it unaccountably begins just after 1971's La Question, one of her career highlights. Instead, the compilers drew heavily from mid-'70s works like 1973's Message Personnel. The scarcity of reissued material from this era makes for an interesting collector's item; the arrangements of Michel Bernholc are light but interesting, and Hardy rarely disappoints.
