Essential is a fine double-disc compilation assembled from ten of Yanni's albums. The 32 tracks span the first half of the new age mega-star's career -- from his debut album in the mid-'80s right up to 1993, the year of his peak achievement, Live at the Acropolis. "Marching Season," "Reflections of Passion," "Santorini," “Flight of Fantasy," "Chasing Shadows," "In the Mirror," and "The Rain Must Fall" are among the highlights.
