AMG Review of Capricorn One: Singles & Rarities
Gregory Heaney
All Music GuideWhile the fictional Capricorn One was a hoax of epic proportions, Good Riddance fans should rejoice that the singles collection of the same name is very real. Collecting their 7” singles, compilations tracks, and unreleased demos, Capricorn One contains over a decade's worth of tracks released by the band between 1993 and 2006. As a cherry on top of a solid collection of skate punk jams, the liner notes of the album contain not only lyrics, but also comments on all of the songs by singer Russ Rankin, allowing fans to hear some of the background and context behind the songs compiled here. While some of the songs may be too raw to make this a good entry point for the new fan, longtime Good Riddance devotees will find a lot of forgotten gems to mine out of this collection.
