This double CD reissue brings some of the biggest hits of this fundamental duo of composers/performers. Educated urban white people, Toquinho and Vinícius de Moraes (a former diplomat) learned how to drink in the waters of the rich Brazilian tradition and to translate it into a subtle, peaceful, and tender language. Here they cover 29 songs from which they wrote 17. The rest is from Tom Jobim, Baden Powell, Chico Buarque, Dorival Caymmi, and others. Sometimes they are joined by excellent performers such as Monsueto, Ciro Monteiro, and Marília Medalha.
