Barcelona band Delorean make the kind of electro-pop that will put a smile on your face no matter what kind of mood you're in. Their newest album, Subiza is tailor-made for summer fun, something that's bursting at the seams with joyful noise. To achieve this, the band uses a variety of influences from both sides of the pond, with traces of Latin music, '90s rave, electronica, and good old fashioned pop sensibilities. While the entire album appaers to be filled with sunshine, no track does it better than opener "Stay Close," a song filled with chants, layered synths, and a somewhat buried chorus beneath the surface yearning for a lover that's threatening to leave. If the weather feels the least bit warm outside, it's time to put Subiza on full blast.
